Arrow | Longbow Hunters Teased For Season 7

  Season 7 Spoiler ahead…

A dangerous new threat is coming for the Green Arrow. According to the former Arrow show-runner Marc Guggenheim, the episode teases the debut of a DC villain team well-known to comic book fans: the Longbow Hunters.

In an interview, Guggenheim confirmed to TVLine that the finale would name-drop the villainous organization.

“I will say that the reference to the Longbow Hunters is us planting a flag, much the same way we referenced Damien Darhk in the Season 3 finale,” Guggenheim said.

The mention of their appearance tells us what threats are to come in next fall’s Season 7.

“We would be [not nice people] to name-drop the Longbow Hunters and not see them in Season 7.”

Who are the Longbow Hunters?

The Longbow Hunters are a team of super-villains which debuted in the New 52 era of DC Comics, in Green Arrow #31 by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino. The team was assembled by Richard Dragon (aka Ricardo Diaz on Arrow), and it was composed of members such as Brick, Count Vertigo, Killer Moth and Red Dart.

Stephen Amell | Talks About The Latest Twist on “Arrow” Season 6

Hey, everyone!

Arrow‘ delivered the biggest game-changing twists of all last week in the US, when the latest episode “Tribute” aired on The CW and saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) take a step back from his crime-fighting role as the Green Arrow, passing it to his close friend John Diggle (David Ramsey).

We have watched Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) for five seasons to-date under the hood, battling enemies in a variety of outfits as his character evolved and developed, not many saw the change to the hero coming, but it’s one that could revitalise the series entirely.

How the characters and their relationships will be affected by the change remains to be seen, but Amell has been speaking out about the story shift since it was revealed.

Amell spoke to EW, and when asked if he was still active with Team Arrow “in certain ways”, he responded:

“He’s out. He’s totally out. We have an instance where he has to hop back in, but it’s not in the capacity that people would expect him to. It’s in an episode called ‘Reversal’. He does have to hop back in, but other than the occasional visit, he’s out.”

He added that it had been a “very strange time” filming the sixth season, but he likes that Oliver has “given the mantle to Diggle”.

Viewers are now facing one of the largest adjustments in the ‘Arrowverse’ they’ve ever seen, so it’s not only going to be interesting to see how the characters in Star City respond to it, but how viewers will take the news. This season’s going to be quite interesting indeed!
